With a population of 240,000, Jersey City is the state’s second largest city, and a stunning representation of its namesake. Right on the west bank of the Hudson River, it offers an amazing view of the river and the New York City skyline. With a thriving cultural and business centers, and close proximity to downtown Manhattan, it’s no wonder that professionals and families are relocating here in droves.

Jersey City offers some of the best real estate in the Gold Coast – new construction is abundant, and everything from luxury homes to high-rise condominiums and even historic brownstones are available. The growth in the area is encouraging, and there’s no time to waste in investing in Jersey City, especially considering all the businesses that are moving to its business center – like Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. With their presence, you know there’s something to the potential of this town.

Go to work, kick back at your favorite cafe, or sample the cuisine at one of the many fantastic dining options here. Lay back in Liberty State Park, or take them to the Liberty Science Center, after picking your children up from one of the great public or private schools here. Downtown Jersey City, with its historic buildings, galleries, and restaurants, is also incredibly diverse, giving the area an extra cosmopolitan edge over its neighbors. But if that’s not enough, there’s always the short commute into New York City, where you can explore even more.

Jersey City offers some of the best of the Gold Coast. If you are searching a luxury waterfront property to purchase, or a condo to rent, the quality here is paramount. Ask about any of the neighborhoods, including Downtown, Journal Square, Newport, West Side, Greenville, Hamilton Park, The Heights, Paulus Hook, and Bergen/Lafayette. If you are urban or suburban, this is the place for you.

Not to be outdone, Academy I Middle School (a part of the Academic Enrichment Program, for Gifted Students) has distinguished itself as one of the best middle schools in the country. These achievements have brought new focus back to all of the great schools in the Jersey City Public Schools district.

Jersey City Recreation

Did you know that Ellis Island lies within Jersey City’s borders? For nearly sixty years, until 1952, Ellis Island was the main entry for immigrants. It is inactive, but still serves as a time capsule for American History. It’s a landmark that should not be missed, and you can take a Circle Line ferry to the island from Liberty State Park.

Liberty State Park takes up about a mile of the Jersey City waterfront, and aside from offering many trails, picnic grounds and overlook points (where you can see the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline), holds annual festivals such as the Liberty Jazz Festival.

Liberty State Park is also the home to the Liberty Science Center, a great option for a family outing. With interactive exhibitions and hi-tech displays, it’s an entertaining place for both children and adults to learn. Afterwards, go to one of the many restaurants, where you can get old-fashioned surf and turf, or a tasty ethnic experience.

Golf lovers will be happy to see that they’re only a couple of minutes from the incredible Liberty National Golf Course, which offers 18-holes and a total of 7,346 yards of golf. Imagine teeing off with the Statue of Liberty on the horizon, cheering you on – it is truly breathtaking.

Jersey City offers a vibrant day life and nightlife, whatever your lifestyle. Feel free to ask us about it, but we recommend that you discover the magic here yourself.
